Easter pictures

-

The Easter Bunny was very generous this year. And I got roses from James, which is always so thoughtful and romantic. Here is a picture of our baskets of goodies, chocolate bunnies, books and toys we got on Easter morning. James got a blu-ray, The African Queen.

I also wanted to put up a few pictures of our Easter Eggs. We had Grandma Droegemueller send a dye kit, and we had one left over from last year, so between the two we had 13 colors for our eggs! We tried some new dye techniques, such as wrapping rubber bands around the eggs, or "drawing" with glue then dying the egg, wiping off the glue, then dying another color over where the glue had left the egg white. It was pretty cool! We also had shrink-wrap "egg-a-rounds" that were a lot of fun to shrink with the hair dryer.

I think we had 26 eggs total... and quite the variety of colors and patterns since most had more than one color bath.

These are the eggs with the "glue writing," followed by a dip in a second color. We just used regular white glue.

The little boy I babysit, Benji, had an obsession with eggs, and since it's one of the only words he can say, he had a blast playing with the dyed eggs after Easter was over. He would crack them, of course, then he would say "egg hole!" He was cute.
